I’m very pleased to inform you of recent changes to the ACA Board. Three Board Directors have left the Board within the past 12 months – Daniel Findley from DOXA resigned, Bill Oakley has retired and I myself resigned to take up the CEO position – which has created the opportunity to rebuild with some new blood.
Our Constitution allows for the Board to be made up of seven Directors elected from the member base and between two and four appointed Directors, chosen for their ability to fill any identified skills gap on the Board.
The ACA has been extremely fortunate in attracting a number of high quality applicants, five of whom have now joined. They are: Pam Kappelides (disability services background), Mark Monahan (Edmund Rice), Joel Thompson (Youth Camp Leaders and Quest), Angela Chandler (Cave Hill Creek) and Graham Sharpe (Sport and Recreation, WA). Angela, Graham and Pam are appointed; Joel and Mark are elected Directors.
This means that we now have Directors from four states (WA, SA, Vic and Qld), Joel representing the up and coming generation and four female Directors. Process wise, all of these new Directors will serve until the November AGM, at which point they may choose to stand for re-election or re-appointment.
I’m very much looking forward to continuing to work closely with the ACA Board and I wish the new Directors well in their new roles.
