As I am sure you are all by now aware, our long serving ACA Executive Officer, David Petherick, concluded his role last Friday November 6th. Last Thursday some of us enjoyed time together to formally farewell and thank David for his wonderful service to the ACA over nearly ten years. Thanks again David!
Upon receipt of David’s resignation the Board considered a range of recruitment options for the next Executive Officer. Based on our understanding of the immediate needs, professional advice and noting that the Board will be conducting a strategic planning event early in 2016, the decision was taken to appoint an interim EO for a period of six months. This will enable the Board to ensure the next ongoing appointment will be fully aligned to the most up to date strategic priorities for the ACA. To enable the interim appointment to be made in a timely way, the Board also decided to use a professional NFP recruitment firm to provide a shortlist of potential candidates.
Interviews have been conducted over recent weeks, and I am very pleased to be able to announce our new interim executive office, Scott Seward. Scott is an experience CEO having recently been in the position of CEO for the Parramatta Eels NRL club. Scott has recently returned to Victoria to be near family and the short term position with the ACA seems to be a great fit. Scott will commence with the ACA on Monday November 23rd.
During the coming few months I will be out of the country for some significant time. During my absence Board member Pete Griffiths will be acting ACA President. Any members wishing to provide any input into either the strategic planning process for ACA or recruitment strategies are welcome to contact the ACA for my details.
