My name is Pete Griffiths and I’m delighted to be able to serve the Australian Camps Association as Interim CEO for the next six months. I come from a varied background in nature based tourism (via Peregrine Adventures), outdoor education and camps management (with the Outdoor Education Group) and communications / business development. I have been a Board member since 2014.
My focus for the rest of this year and heading into 2016 will be on supporting our mission “More People Outdoors More Often” through improving member services, delivering excellent programs via our “Adventure for All” arm, People Outdoors, and continuing to engage with both the wider camping sector and Government agencies.
On that note, thank you to all those of you who recently took the time to complete the 2015 Member Survey. The information and insights we gain from your comments are invaluable in helping the Australian Camps Association identify what we can do better for you, in order to give you the best possible value for your membership commitment.
Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to recognise the People Outdoors team, both here at the office and the wonderful volunteers on program. Did you know that the P.O. team put over 40 camps on the ground in 2015? Or that over 400 volunteers days were involved? Without their dedication we could not continue to provide such valuable outdoor experiences for the disabled people in our community.
