About ACA Conference IMPACT: Camping in Australia
Conference Theme: "Empowering Camps and Outdoor
Activity Providers to IMPACT communities”
The Australian Camps Association is a professional association. To be a profession
means to make a commitment to the development of the field through further
education and increasing the body of knowledge via research and the interaction
of colleagues.
In order to provide an opportunity for this development, ACA will hold a national conference in 2006, with the following aims:
- to bring ACA members from throughout Australia to a common location to
meet, support and learn from one another, to relax (play and re-create)
together and share experiences and ideas
- to enable ACA members to play an active role in the selection of the first
fully elected national Board of Directors and to have direct input into
the direction of the new ACA
- to encourage and support education and training of camp and outdoor activity
providers and their staff through:
~ thought provoking sessions and discussion on topics relevant to the profession
~ professional training in some specialised activity areas
~ visits to camps and outdoor activity providers operating in the area
~ informal small group meetings to discuss topics relevant to these groups
~ open discussion sessions on the development and direction of the ACA

Sponsorship and Trade Display Opportunities
The conference offers the opportunity for organisations to be directly involved
by way of sponsorship and trade displays. Packages have been tailored to appeal
to a wide variety of organisations. However if there are other ways in which
your organisation would like to be involved (eg. delegate bags), we welcome
the opportunity to discuss these with you.
This is an ideal way for organisations to promote their products and/or services
to the camping and outdoor recreation community.
