About Us

The Australian Camps Association has been assisting the residential camping, outdoor recreation and education community by providing information, resources, services and training to users and operators since 1983. New services are continually being developed to ensure quality experiences are available. Membership is open to individuals and organisations.

The Australian Camps Association is recognised as the national peak body for residential camps and activity providers in Australia. We believe that through participating in the temporary community we call 'camp', youth and adult citizens of Australia will enhance their lives individually and collectively.

Objectives

  • Engage with every camp and activity provider in Australia.
  • Offer a range of benefits that will assist each member to provide a high quality outdoor recreation experience.
  • Build and develop networks at local and national levels with all appropriate, government regulatory and client stakeholders.
  • Resource and research all issues relevant to the mission of the Australian Camps Association.

About This Website

This online directory has been produced by the Australian Camps Association as a service to the camping community and contains details of residential campsites that are available for public hire by groups and family's.

The venues offer a marvellous variety of style, settings and activities. Many of the buildings are purpose built, perhaps with all facilities under one roof, some are renovated buildings with an unusual history, others are conference centres.

Many are in rural settings, near the beach, on working farms, adjacent to tourist attractions or in the mountains. Some venues offer kitchen facilities for groups to do their own catering, others offer full catering.

Increasing numbers of these venues are also offering a wide range of activities - environmental education, canoeing, orienteering, and farm activities through to horse riding, abseiling and challenge rope courses.

The facilities listed offer bunkhouse and cabin accommodation for groups of all types. It may be several families getting together to have an inexpensive family holiday, community groups, social clubs or youth organisations. As well, school groups use these venues extensively for outdoor education.
